How can you protect yourself and your loved ones? Three basic steps below will help protect you from these bad actors!
- Never wire your funds from any account for any reason…unless you speak with your Lawyer, CPA or Financial Advisor first. If someone you don’t know asks you to wire money it is Fraudulent. Do not rely on your big bank to oversee your transaction or to make sure that it is safe. My experience is that they do not care nor do they take any responsibility for your actions.
- Never convert your accounts or investments to something else of value like gold, silver, Bitcoin, gift cards, or cash, etc. and give it to anyone. If you give any of these things away, you will never get it back.
- Never give your precious information to anyone for any reason. Your information could be your passwords, login information, social security number, date of birth, Medicare/Medicaid numbers, etc. Your bank/credit union, your governments and your utilities already have this information, they will NEVER ever ask for it.
Before you do anything above, reach out to your Lawyer, CPA or give us a call. Make sure that you call us BEFORE you do anything above. We are in a no-judgment zone here. And remember, you don’t have to be a client to speak with us.
Understand that these scammers are professional and you are an amateur. They do this for a living and are great at it. If you give your funds away…you will likely NEVER get it back. The police usually do very little other than file a police report for you.
