George Hunter III is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Resonant Financial Management and the Founder and Managing Director of Hunter Capital, LLC with more than 22 years of experience in the financial services industry. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, George is committed to helping clients navigate estate, investment, and retirement planning. By utilizing a variety of financial strategies, he works with clients to help enhance their investment potential, reduce financial risk, preserve their estates for future generations, and provide greater confidence in their financial futures.
George began his professional career as a mechanical engineer with Pratt & Whitney, where he designed components for NASA’s Space Shuttle and the F-22 fighter aircraft programs. He later held positions of increasing responsibility across engineering, manufacturing, quality, plant operations, supply chain, and financial management, working with companies including GE Capital, Hewlett-Packard, and Eaton Corporation.
After years of extensive global travel, George decided to pursue a career that would allow him to be closer to home with his wife and growing family. He transitioned into personal finance, spending more than a decade with Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley, where he served as a Vice President. Today, he serves as Managing Director of Resonant Financial Management.
Throughout his career, George has developed a unique perspective on addressing the individual needs and concerns of his clients. His goal is to help clients pursue financial well-being while managing the risks associated with life’s unforeseen events. As an independent advisor, George takes a holistic approach to financial planning and coordinates with elder law attorneys, CPAs, and other professionals when appropriate.
His broad range of experience enables him to provide guidance in areas including:

Community & Personal Life
George is the proud father of three children and lives and works in Columbia, Maryland, where he grew up. He is a graduate of Centennial High School—Go Eagles!
George has remained actively involved in his community throughout the years. He has volunteered as a football, basketball, and track and field coach, as well as a mentor and church volunteer. He has also served as President of the local Habitat for Humanity organization and was a founding board member of Neighbor Ride, an organization whose mission is captured by its motto: “Volunteers Drive, Seniors Thrive.”
